Hōzuki-san Chi no Aneki's Igarashi to Launch New Manga

Hōzuki-san Chi no Aneki's creator Ran Igarashi will start a new manga the March issue of Young Ace magazine.

The title of the manga is still unknown, but it will be a series of coming-of-age teen stories.

The magazine is released on February 4.

Chibi Maruko-chan last installment

Tokushima Shumbun announced that the 4-panel manga Chibi Maruko-chan will have it's last appearance on December 31.

This ends the series of Maruki-chan, after having over 1500 installments since 2007 in the Japanese newspapers, and after creating a regular mangazine work series in Ribon shõjo from 1986 to 1996.

Spirit of Wonder chapter online

A new chapter of Spirit of Wonder manga was posted for free on the Monthly Comic Yu magazine website.

The manga is an adaptation of Shinji Kajio's Emanon light novel series, and the story centers around a mysterious girl who possesses 3 billion years of memores, from the very start of life until teh current day on Earth.

Kochikame celebrates 35 years

Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine 30th issue announced that Osamu Akimoto's police comedy manga Kochira Katsushika-ku Kamearikouen-mae Hashutsujo (Kochikame) will be featured as a one-shot in 13 Shueisha manga magazines between August and October.

Kochikame celebrates it's 35th anniversary, of the manga being published in Weekly Shonen Jump, the manga released it's 175th compiled book this Monday, and of June, the series sold more than 143 million copies.

Over the years, Kochikame received a live action-film in 1977, two anime series in 1985 and between 1996-2004, two anime movies, a live-action series in 2009 and will be getting a new life-action film in August 6.

KamiNomi to release new OAD

The weekly Shonen Sunday magazine announced that the 14th volume of Tamiki Wakaki’s Kami no Mizo Shiru Sekai (The World God Only Knows) manga will be released on September 16 with a limited edition that will include a bonus OAD.

Previously, KamiNomi released the first OAD with the 10th volume and already aired two television series, one last year and the seconds earlier this year.

Witches of Africa now translated

Fans of the Strike Witches universe will be pleased to know that the Witches of Africa mangas have been officially translated. They currently have a Japan release date of May 30 and will be bilingual. All previous titles have previous titles such as Tiger in the Desert and The Stuka Witch have been translated as well. All this is in addition to the release of volume 3 of the bilingual manga Witches of the Sphinx. According to Dan Kanemitsu, they are currently working on getting outlets to help sell the compilations overseas as well as a digital distribution source for those who don't want to spend as much for a physical copy. There is talk about possibly making the physical copies a sort of deluxe version as opposed to the digital. They said more work would largely depend on demand overseas. Black Rock Shooter gets Manga in Young Ace

Kadokawa Shoten's Young Ace magazine announced previous Monday that Sanami Suzuki (Net Ghost PiPoPa) is launching a manga adaptation from huke and everyones favorite - Black Rock Shooter. Young Ace promises that Black Rock Shooter ~Innocent Soul~ will be "a Black Rock Shooter that no one has seen before." and will be coming already in the June issue of the magazine.

The manga story centers around a girl in Hazama - a world beween Earth and Heaven. Hazana is home for the Impure souls, the souls that couldn't ascend to Heaven with the burden of their own weight and so set to drift on this world of constant warfare.

Starting from a small music video, huke's Black Rock Shooter captured the worlds heart and inspired already dozens of figurines, an OVA,a game for PSP, and countless fanarts. BRS is also featured by the artist ringo, who launched a Black Rock-chan - four-panel manga in Kadokawa Shoten's 4-Koma Nano Ace magazine last March.

Crime and Punishment manga to get movie?

Futabasha, Japanese publisher, announced that they have plans for a movie adaptation of Naoyuki Ochiai’s 2007-2011 manga Crime and Punishment: A Falsified Romance.

The manga is an "updated interpretation" of Fyodor Dostoyevsky’s 1866 novel Crime and Punishment.

Futabasha has not specificed whether the film will be animated or live action, straight-to-video or theatrical.

Aki Sora manga being censored?

Masahiro Itosug, manga creator, announced that the first and third volumes of her just concluded manga series Aki Sora will cease getting reprinted after July and the digital distribution to be unlikely. Itosugi stated that the decision to cease publication of her manga wasn't made by herself. The reason of this decision comes from the fact that the manga depicts incest, not because the manga is sexually graphic... Read more.

Fullmetal Alchemist 'Prototype' Manga in June

As celebration of the 20th anniversary of Square Enix's Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine, it announced that will publish Hiromu Arakawa's Fullmetal Alchemist "Prototype" manga as a one-shot in June.

Arakawa ended the main Fullmetal Alchemist manga in Monthly Shonen Gangan last June, although she did draw a side story in September.

Beagerutā - New manga starting in July 7

Nemesis magazine announced last Monday that Hiroaki Samura, creator of Blade of the Immortals, is launching a new manga entitled Beagerutā on the next issue on July 7.

The action manga story resolves around dirty money battles between three woman: Nami, a 'passionate psychedelic revenger', Je-Mao, a 'china dress-wearing killing machine', and Shinobu Aza, a female gang leader.

Next Haruhi Suzumiya light novel to bring Kyon short story

Kadokawa Shoten, just confirmed that the Limited First Edition of the next Haruhi - Suzumiya Haruhi no Kyõgaku (The Suprise of Haruhi Suzumiya), will bundle a special booklet with a short story of Kyon middle school days and entitled "Rainy Day". In addition to the short story, it will also feature a 64 color pages illustration book by the novel artist Noizi Ito, with the contributions of Gaku Tsugano (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya manga) and Puyo (The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi chan), the booklet will also feature a behind-the-scenes account by the original editor of the light novel series

Suzumiya Haruhi no Kyõgaku 600 pages light novel will ship in two volumes, but the Limited Edition will bundle both volumes and the booklets.

The night novel will be released world wide on May 25, but only Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Korea will be the first countries where novel will be shipped on that day.

Creator Hiromu Arakawa will launch a new manga series of Fullmetal Alchemist in this year's 19th issue of Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine.

Fullmetal Alchemist manga ended last Juno on Square Enix monthly Shonen Gangan magazine, but Arakawa still drawed a side story in September.

K-ON! manga returns in Times Kirara this spring, announced manga Times Kirara magazine.

Kakifly is relaunching his K-ON! comedy manga with a page of new strips with our lovable friends, Yui, Ritsu, Mugi, Mio and our cute little Azusa, between the other characters.

More details about the manga will be provided in the next issue of the Times Kirara magazine on March 9.

K-ON!, a four-panel comedy manga follows a group of high school girls who form an afterschool rock band with their schools light music club. The manga had ended its first run last September. Two TV seasons ran from April to June 09 and April to September 10, respectively. A movie is also scheduled for this years summer, yet no content has yet been released.
