Ok, so i finally gave a decent go to both games, and heres my tough about them:
Left 4 Dead 2
A lot harder then the previous, wich is a really good thing, but unfortunally, there are some things ticking me off, some examples are like the puke jar has a just plain horrible FX, looks like something from 5 years ago, but at least is preatty cool to use it against the tanks, also the voices… argh.. i think my ears are bleeding, terrible, just plain terrible, turn them off, TURN THEM OFF…
Passing to the weapons, so many weapons, yet some feel uterlly useless, i found out that using the pistols are much better that using most of the primary weapons…. better accuracy, nice damage, the only problem is their small clips, but you can reload preatty quickly… a bit sad…. and the melee weapons, using them is just asking to get hit (saw some team mates getting mauled down since they wanted to go rambo style with their katana), there are some rare cases you can just use them for the lulz tough.
The map layouts are a bit way to squary, if we pay attention they are preatty linear (and i don’t mean linear by only 1 route), and the day maps, well… they just kill the imerssion from the game, feels like more a random arcade game that a zombie apocalipse.
The new Special Infected are a good addition, i enjoeyed them, evan tough i find some animations a bit junky and very simple (small animations in an infinite loop), but they are fun to play with and against, i’m impressed. The new gametype is also fun, yet not that original.
Finally, there are way less dead times in L4D2, most places are full of common infected, great, thats perfect, should been like this on L4D1.
Overhaul, L4D2 isn’t a masterpiece like many say or want it to look like, but it can be fun for a good while, it doesn’t give the same sensation L4D1 gave when it came out, but…
Call of Duty 6: Modern Warfare 2
Now, for Modern Warfare 2, the SP is trully well made, it has the same feeling the first one had, good action, good emersion, and if you have a nice sound system, it will preatty much puts you down there pinned down, inside the action.
Unfortunally, the MP lost it, again, feels like you’re playing an arcade game, and what i mean with this, is that, you don’t feel like you’re playing a team work game, yet more a gankfest, spraying everywhere, not paying attention to anything , etc.The game is much more fast-passed that the previous one, wich for anyone looking for a very quick match is preatty good, but for someone wanting to enjoy a game for some time, might be a bit problematic.
The lobby system, lack of dedicated servers and low number of slots hurt the game a lot, hopefully, the lack of dedicated servers will be patched “soon”, wich will make MW2 shine like MW1 did and still does.
Right now, the MP is a plain console port, but if you’re looking for an intensive SP, MW2 smashs it in your face with style.
I guess that’s all, not my best reviews… but time is short :/
