Some (good) days ago i said something about working on… well… something, and well, thats true, and i’m finally getting close to having a tiny little scrub of my project to show, so i feel it’s time to announce it.

But what am i talking about? I’ve started CGI movie project, i’ve had this in my head for some years now, but i never felt ready to do it until now.

For this project, i’m working on it alone on my little spare time, i’ll be building the models, textures, animations, effects, etc.  in short and sweet, everything you can and can’t see in a movie. Obviosully this isn’t made from the night to the day, it’s something of several months (or years!? uhh… ).

The movie itself will be around 5min. or so, nothing  big, but enough to entretain you (and me), and… i guess that’s all i’m giving out today.

To track down the progress i’ve added some progress bars in here so it’s easy to keep up, i’ll be updating it as i go.

I guess that’s all for now, see you soon.

Ohh and by the way… Death Note is cool, go watch it.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2.. good or bad? Tough choise…

2 days playing the beta, and well, i’m disapointed with several stuff, yes ok, the beta is only 1 game mode and 1 map, but in the end i still managed to have fun, not so much fun as i did with BF2 or actually any other BF series (besides BC1).

For starters, the login system is slow as hell, and the server browser is just plain horrible, it seems we are moving backwards that forwards with the server browsers, i just can’t get it. The server browser takes ages to search for the servers, we can’t cancel it, and then when we have all the info, we still don’t get everything we’re used to, for example, it doesn’t show the players/max players for that server, it just shows the number of players, so you kinda have to trial and error to find a server with some free slots.

As for in-game, in the beta map, the attackers first spawn is by parachute, wich as you fall you nearlly get blowed up by anti-air shells (you never get hit, but it gives a very sweet feel as the camera shakes as you descend), the sound effects are preatty nice too, evan tough most weapon sounds seem a bit flushed, as the war rages, and more bullets/explosions fly near and far away, it really makes you feel you are inside the battlefield.

Weapon wise, they feel uberlly unbalanced, you can unload full clips without dropping the enemy, yet some few other weapons is just 1 shot and you fragged, they need several tweaking until the release. It seems that some rifles have less then half of their bullet count, compared to the number showed in the clip on the HUD.

Everyone heard about the feacture from BC2, the destroyable buildings, is it a good or a bad thing? Personally i dislike it a bit (not fully), when on foot, you like to have some cover, specially when you’re a sniper, no? Well, no more, 1 shell or evan a tube nade can take out a big fat wall covering you. While for the attackers this is epic, for the defenders, is just plain horrible. The structures would need to be much stronger and the “holes” turned by half, insted of taking down big walls in 1 go. Also, this destroction doesn’t make much sense, you are able to take out walls and “some” roofs, but inside stairs, you can’t, just like pillars, etc… i think it needed some harder work in here, sad we won’t see it. But i still like some of the destroction, you’re a sniper yet have your view blocked by trees and buildings? Well, they can all be taken down… that’s just lovable, can’t denny that.

In the end, evan with what i dislike, i still managed to have some fun, it’s a FPS war game, and it got me hooked for at least 2 days (no time to play now), so i guess it’s aleast worth it, still, lot’s of stuff needs to be adressed, let’s hope the game goes well until the release date.

It seems halloween came 10 months (or 9, since this month is almost over) earlier this year, at least for EA and Battlefield Heroes for a couple of days ago.

Warewolfs and Vampires are now fighting in those WW2 themed battliefields. The players can now purchage bundle deals wich feactures either warewolf or vampire cloths for their avatars, each of these sets are designated for each side.

For those that don’t know, BF Heroes is a free FPS (more like TPS) game from EA, that brings you into a WW2 comic style battlefield. Either in the hands of the Royal or the Nationalists, you fight off the oposite bloody scum on foot, jeeps, tanks or planes. It’s preatty much a spin off the good old Battlefield series, but free. BF Heroes also has a little RPG element too, you gain XP and level up, unlocking poitns to use on class specific “powers”, like invisibility and poisened dagger for the commando, and so on. The game also feactures a payed shop, wich has some items that can be bought with either in-game points or money. The items come from new cloths, to new weapons wich have a very small advantage over the default ones, so everything is preatty balanced from the paying and non-paying players.

It’s a fun, yet non-serious game, if you’re looking for quick matches to relief the stress you can give this game a go.
